I had a heart attack at the age of 38 followed by a double by-pass, since then it triggered severe episodes of asthma as well I found out I have sleep apena , the doctor believes I probably always had the sleep disorder all along and it was just missed by my treating doctor. I had chest pains for months before my heart attack but no one took me seriously because I was so young and I guess I didn't complain loud enough. I went to two doctors, no one ran a single test except a tread mill, they just told me I was fat and needed to go on a diet, calm down and I would be fine. Nine months later Ka-boom the big one and I nearly met my maker, I was medi-vaked to ICCU in Modesto Ca. where I was on life support for a few days. I have had a heck of a time regaining my health. I can't seem to kick the smoking habit, depression hit me hard as I am bipolar. I am fairly talented artist but am having a hard time getting back into the flow of things. Can anyone out there relate to what I have been going through? Also been having some short term memory problems, my cardiologist wants me to go to Stanford to see if perhaps I had a little stroke or not. Gosh I hope not!!! Other docs think it could be the meds, it really does get confusing though!!
